Scripture: Romans 15:14 (AMP) - "Personally I am convinced about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, amply filled with all [spiritual] knowledge, and competent to admonish and counsel and instruct one another."

Devotional

Many of us aim to inspire and empower the next generation, helping them believe they can achieve their dreams. This pursuit can make us feel like we're on top of the world, sharing our success to inspire others to believe they can achieve their dreams too. However, Romans 15:14 reminds us of the importance of counseling and instructing one another. Paul emphasizes that salvation is not the destination; as Believers in Christ, we are called to continually grow in our walk with God. Sometimes we say, “Just pray about it,” using it as a way to avoid truly engaging with what our brother or sister in Christ might be going through. But Paul instructs us to counsel and support those around us. This requires us to genuinely know what is happening in each other’s lives and to provide heartfelt care, just as Jesus did with the woman at the well. Our experiences and testimonies are not just for ourselves but are meant to counsel and edify those around us. In doing this, we make ourselves available vessels that God can use to pour into others.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for filling us with Your goodness and knowledge. Help us to see others the way you see them. Equip us to admonish, counsel, and instruct one another in love. May our lives reflect Your character, and may we build up our community in faith. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
