Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:6 - And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus
Devotional:
Isn't it amazing that we serve a God who seats us in heavenly places? This isn't some super spiritual language or a religious idea that holds no weight in our everyday life. It's a profound truth that transforms how we view and engage with the world.
To be seated in heavenly places means that we are positioned with Christ, sharing in His authority and perspective. God tells us that we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12). This means our battles are spiritual, and we need a Heavenly perspective to navigate them.
When there are things going on in the world that cause confusion, anger, and chaos, we can go to the Father and get His perspective. God reigns on government, but He does not control those in political power because we are all given free will. Our heavenly position calls us to be Kingdom-minded and not distracted by the disagreements from earthly matters. We are representatives of God's kingdom and let our identities in Christ guide the way we act, decide, and response reflecting our Creator's love.
We need to get back to being a house of prayer in our gatherings with Believers and know that our authority is in Christ Jesus.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for seating us with Christ in the heavenly realms. Help us to live from this place of authority and perspective. When confusion, anger, and chaos arise, guide us to Your presence for clarity and peace. Strengthen us in prayer knowing our authority that comes from our position in Christ. Empower us to bring Your heavenly perspective into every area of our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.
