Devotional - Embracing God’s Prescription for Freedom

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 42:7 (NIV) "To open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness."

Devotional:

Blindness is not only a physical condition but can also manifest as spiritual blindness - an inability to discern God's truth and will for our lives. Discernment is seeing what is preventing us from going from moving forward.

Some of the relationships in our lives whether they be romantic or platonic are expired. Some of us still have relationships with people we met in high school, or people we met while we were in the valley. When we have the wrong people around us, we will do the wrong thing, leading us away from God’s plan and purpose for our lives.

The enemy wants to keep us stuck in a place of stagnation. God desires to deliver us from spiritual blindness, granting us the ability to see who in our life is expired, and it is manifesting as a devouring spirit. His truth clearly and walk in His light.

To experience God's vision, we must take inventory of those in our inner circle - our friends, mentors, and influencers. They say they believe in God, but are they leading me closer to him? Yes, we go to church together, but are they pouring into my cup spiritually? Surrounding ourselves with Godly relationships fosters spiritual growth and equips us with the wisdom to reach the next level.

Bad company can devour us, the enemy wants to hinder our progress to keep us from walking into our promises. The enemy’s schemes seek to distract, discourage, and devour our dreams, and hopes of our future and walking with enthusiasm into the promises God has for us. God desires to break the chains of this devouring spirit, setting us free to pursue the plans and purpose he has for us.

In times of challenges and adversity, let us turn our hearts to God and seek His guidance. He promises to open our eyes and lead us into freedom. When we align ourselves with God's truth and surround ourselves with our Godly influences and God-sent relationships, we can confidently walk towards our destiny.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come before You today, asking you to open my eyes to your truth and Your will for my life. Help me discern the voices and influences around me, and grant me the courage to let go of anything that hinders my spiritual growth. Give me the eyes to see and let the spirit of truth manifest to the light. Break the chains of the devouring spirit that seeks to hold me back, and lead me to the promise place that You have prepared for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
